Designed for Seventh-day Adventist university students and young professionals, College and University Dialogue is published by the Committee on Adventist Ministry to College and University Students (AMiCUS) in cooperation with the 13 world divisions of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and in partnership with Public Campus Ministries (PCM). Volume 31, Number 1 (2019) is now available online. In her editorial titled Where Are We Going, and How Fast? Lisa Beardsley-Hardy discusses our church’s strategic plan, the 2020 General Conference Session, and our role in reaching the world. Additional articles include:

Life, a Journey. God, the Guide. by John Wesley Taylor V
“With God shaping your life into a magnificent journey, you can make that journey one of courage, beauty, dignity, and love.”

Reviewing Our Fundamental Beliefs: Snapshots of the Grand Biblical Story by Elias Brasil de Souza
“Adventist history and Fundamental Beliefs are closely linked. The development of the 28 Fundamental Beliefs reflect the birth, the mission, and the growth of the church through its inspiring history from 1844. So argues the author.”

How Science Separated from Theology: Musings of a Theologian by George Reid
“What scholastics used as fodder for debate has today become a watershed issue between biblical religion and science as now practiced. In this dilemma, what is the plight of the believer?”

Catching a Fisherman by Leah Jordache
“There is no one too disinterested, too distracted, too confident, too discouraged or so sinful that through an encounter with the power of God in Jesus cannot be redeemed and transformed.”

Uganda Adventist University Students Meet for Fellowship and Evangelism, 2018 by Miriga Micheal
“The 2018 conference of Adventist college and university youth in Uganda closed on two high notes: the first, a total member commitment (TMC) on the part of the university students to be representatives of Jesus and proclaimers of His grace in the educational communities where they live and study; the second, a baptism of 40 young people from both the Hoima region and visitors from elsewhere.”

Discipleship: Going beyond Baptism by Jeff Scoggins
“When the risen Jesus commanded His disciples to ‘Go and make disciples of all nations’ (Matthew 28:19), He was issuing a global commission for a worldwide mission. Since then, evangelism, reaching the unreached, church planting, and church growth have become not just an option to the community of faith, but a fundamental, faith-building, kingdom-hastening directive.”

Mafu S. Rakometsi: Dialogue with a leading Seventh-day Adventist educator in South Africa by Frank Hardy
“Teaching has many opportunities, both at government and church levels. Depending on what an individual prefers, one could remain in the classroom for the rest of his or her career and enjoy seeing young people grow. Opportunities for service in and through education exist at all levels. Young people who take hold of such opportunities and climb steadily the ladder of service will not be disappointed.”

Ellen4All by Jesse Solomon Zwiker
After discovering that less than 1 percent of Ellen G. White’s publications had been translated into most languages, the author had the idea to use volunteers to crowd-translate the writings. Read how he achieved approval and began the beta-testing for German and Swahili.

This issue is also available in Spanish, French and Portuguese.
